Mixed Merit Master (IR) Summer '25
Saturday 27 September 2025 - 12:00
Because entry into the competition is earned through league rankings — with each league sending its 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seeds — the field is already stacked with proven performers. Every player has earned their place by competing in their own league, meaning the skill level is high across the board.
The challenge, of course, is that the leagues aren’t all the same strength. That’s where the format shines: instead of letting the strongest leagues dominate by sending all their top seeds to one team, the balanced draft method distributes seeds so each team contains a mix of rankings and league strengths.
This approach:
-
Rewards achievement — only players who placed high in their league can enter.
-
Levels the playing field — the best from strong leagues are balanced with mid and lower seeds from others.
-
Creates fresh matchups — players face opponents they wouldn’t normally see in their own league.
-
Encourages cross-league respect — teammates come from different backgrounds and playing styles.
In short, the entry process ensures everyone belongs, and the team formation ensures everyone has a real shot at winning. That combination makes for intense, fair, and unpredictable games.
The 4-team balanced teams with the snake-draft seeding applied are as follows:
Team | A League | B League | C League | D League |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | A1 | B4 | C3 | D2 |
2 | A2 | B3 | C4 | D1 |
3 | A3 | B2 | C1 | D4 |
4 | A4 | B1 | C2 | D3 |
The competition will be held at SSSC on the 27th September at 12 pm
