MPL Youth Pairs – Match Format

Overview

• 24 players → 12 pairs

• 2 groups of 6 pairs (Group A & Group B)

• 4 tables in use

• Round robin format in groups

• Top 2 from each group progress to knockout stage

Group Stage

Structure

• Each group has 6 pairs

• Each pair plays 5 matches (round robin)

• Total matches per group = 15

• Across both groups = 30 matches

Match Timing

• Match length: 20 minutes

• Changeover: 5 minutes

• Total slot per round: 25 minutes

Rounds Required

• 6 pairs = 5 rounds per group

• With 2 groups running simultaneously across 4 tables:

  • Each round = 6 matches total (3 per group)

  • You can comfortably schedule one full round per 25-minute slot

Group Stage Time

• 5 rounds × 25 minutes = 125 minutes (2 hours 5 mins)

• Start: 10:00am

• Finish: ~12:05pm

Knockout Stage

Semi-Finals

• Group A Winner vs Group B Runner-Up

• Group B Winner vs Group A Runner-Up

• Match length: 25 minutes

Time:

• 12:10pm – 12:35pm (allowing 5 min turnaround)

Final

• Winners of semi-finals

• Match length: 30 minutes

Time:

• 12:40pm – 1:10pm
