Pool Scene With Irene Green: Musical Roundup
I thought I would start with two posts that made me laugh last week:
- The Brewers A's Dave Wrench said he preferred the old match result cards as they got more points with them!
- Whyatt & Oliver posted their Mixed Pairs result (should of said Scotch) leaving everyone wondering which one was the female!
Wednesday saw the start of the International league and I thought I would use the odd musical title in my report.
"The Boys Are Back In Town" Silktown A with an 8-3 win and no less than four 8-ball clearances - Andrew, Jonny and Adam Stevens with two! Leaving knockout Cup winners Flowerpot B "Thunderstruck".
Maybe the Weavers B will challenge them for the title as they also won with an 8-3 and one 8-ball courtesy of Adam Downing. Their opponents SSSC E's captain Dave Cobey after being eight balled himself hit back with one of his own in the second half getting that valuable extra point.
It remains to be seen who will be singing "We Are The Champions" at the end of the season.
Thursday night saw the start of the Macc Rules league with the Three Crowns Rainow Road achieving the first whitewash of the season against the Nags Head A! Never mind Sean Royle, "The Only Way Is Up"!
Rob Oliver, Jimmy Neal and Steven Hilditch packed their cue cases and joined the Congleton lads this weekend at the Interleague Team Knockout Finals at Brean Sands Holiday Park. They didn't have much success this time but got more experience at this level and were able to say "Hi-de-Hi" to some very good players!
Finally well done Cheshire Ladies winning 32-12 on Sunday, your "Simply The Best" .
