Pool Scene With Irene Green: An eventful week...

Wednesday

Two International Rules Winter League matches played a week early.

A league: SSSC F beat SSSC A 6-5 after being 4-1 down ! and the F teams Paul Hulley got the first 8 ball of the Winter League season.

B league: Silktown C beat Ivy Leaf C away 6-5 without Chris Heapy, who was with his partner Lauren and new born baby boy Eric Richard, congratulations to them both.

Thursday

While Storm Ian was hitting Florida storm clouds were also forming over the Silktown Snooker Club as our Chairman(& local hero) Lee Holmes was trying to dodge a battering by Macc Town FC's Robbie Savage in a pool challenge.

Talking of windy events the clubs Johnny Sherratt breezed into the quarter finals of the Men's Individuals with a 4-2 win over Carl Meehan.

Friday

The Flowerpot H/Rd's "Prosseco" Paula Armitt was hosting her last karaoke (& 4th hen do!) as a 'Miss' as she is set to tie the knot with the Britannia's Colin Parkes in less than two weeks .

A mention for the king of karaoke Steve Holland who himself admits he's better with a mic in his hand than with a pool cue!

Saturday & Sunday

This weekend saw many pool players from Macclesfield traveling to Daventry for the latest Ultimate Pool Mini Series.

Dave, Charlie, Shaun, Roy & Carl in the Ultimate Pool  Seniors, and Amanda, Maddy, Nichola, Donna & Jane in the Ultimate Pool Ladies events.

Also traveling with them was our very own David Hine to assist with the commentary.

You all deserve praise and too many things happened to mention but I will single out a few things:

• Nichola's performance on the TV table nearly taking the match to a 6 red ball shootout had the commentators full of praise! It's worth searching out the clip posted to the Ultimate Pool's social media channels.
  
• Maddy getting through to the last 16 in the main event.
  
• Donna the same in the plate event.
• Amanda finishing second in the first round group only being topped by the eventual winner number 1 ladies player Emma Cunningham.
• Charlie making his debut at Ultimate pool.
• Dave Cobey having an excellent run up to the last 16 where he was convincingly beaten but I think he may of been distracted as his beloved City football team were playing at the same time !?
• Finally well done Lyndsey Roberts owner of Crewe's Dishers pool club and friend of all the above named players in winning the ladies plate event.
