Pool Scene With Irene Green

10/23/2022

An eventful week to report on starting with well done Jimmy Sheldon for getting a pool report back in the Macc Express and in a week when we lost the actor Robbie Coltrane I thought I would use some TV and film references in my report.

Wednesday saw the A league leaders the Silktown A produce a "Cracker" of an 8-3 win with Ash Roberts using his "Harry Potter" magic to do two ball clearances
Weavers B produced their own "Magic Roundabout" also with an 8-3 win to go second.

In the SSSC Derby the Ease showed they didn't "Love Thy Neighbour" the F team with a 9-2 win!

The B league joint leaders are the Nags A & Silktown C.

The C League have the Spinners A top and The George and Dragon A close behind.

Thursday Macc Rules A league saw the Flowerpot B go top with a "Fast and Furious" 6-1 win with no less than 3 ball clearances in quick succession.

14 balls were achieved across both leagues this week!

B League, Queens A are top and C League, Silk Trader A lead. D League, Lord Byron X go top with a 6-1 win and the Brewers A lie one point behind (they didn't get promoted to the C league over night as their result card suggested!)

Saturday away from the pool table, players Adam Downing and Pete Eccles won a golf Pairs competition with Pete getting his first hole in one.

Emilie Ward traveled to the O2 Arena to watch the history making Women's Boxing. Some past and present pool players helped the newly wed Mr & Mrs Colin Parkes celebrate with Billy Idol tribute act (Paul Featherstone) singing some of his 37 hits the best in my opinion "White Wedding" just for Paula and Colin.

Sunday saw mixed results with the Interleague players in action. Macc A & B lost to Crewe but the Congleton Crew beat Northwich.

The "Young Guns" Cheshire under 23's won both their matches at Pudsey with our very own Adam Stevens. I believe (TBC) making them "The Champions"

Last but not least the Macc Rules Pairs saw Rick Podmore and James Oldfield and Kev Ainsworth and Stu Langrill win their Semi finals to earn their places in the Final

Weekly Diary:
Tuesday 18th: Men's Individuals Semis Macc Rules :
Barrie Lunn v Mark Hughes and Jimmy Yea v Richard Podmore
Wednesday: International Rules League
Thursday: Macc Rules League
Sunday: Scotch Pairs Quarter Finals

Good luck all
