Sunday Captain's Meeting Chairman Lee Holmes started his "Manifest" with an update about Craig Williams. "Hold The Front page" he is at home, using a wheelchair but starting on his road to recovery. Lee thanked the members for responding to his SOS to raise money for Craig and his family and Louise Williams also sent her thanks with Lee to you all. Competition News Mixed Pairs, Veterans and 3Aside forms must be in by Saturday 14th "Strictly" no extension as the draws will be done on Sunday. Annual Trophies Must be returned to Olympus Trophies before the end of January. Proposals for the AGM also must be in before the end of this month, in writing with a named seconder and both must be at the AGM in person. Dates For Your Diaries AGM will be on Sunday 26th February. Lee requested that every team signing has at least one team member present. Pool Presentation will be on Friday 31st of March details TBA. International Rules A League: "Match Of the Day" Leaders Silktown A lost their first league game at home against joint second place the SSSC E! They started well 3-1 up with an ball from Adam Stevens but the Ease then moved into "Top Gear" and won the remaining 7 games with an ball from captain Dave Cobey for an extra point, 3-8! The Weaver B who were tied in second place also had a fantastic result 9-2 and an extra point for an ball from the "Merlin" Matt Furnival and so I think this League will go to "The Wire" for the top two trophies. B League: Top two teams Nags A and Silktown C both won 6-5 and Silktown E move down after losing 3-8 to the Ivy Leaf C. C League: George and Dragon A remain "Top Of The Pops" with an excellent 10-1. The "Happy Valley" Spinners A won 6-5 to stay second. Silk Trader A slip to 3rd after losing 5-6. Macc Rules A League: Flowerpot B move into first place after winning 5-2 and Ivy Leaf A drop down after losing 3-4. B League: Silktown extend their lead winning 4-3. George and Dragon C are second despite losing to another team from the "Happy Valley" Spinners C 3-4. C League: Bruce A remain top 4-3 win and an ball clearance from Chris Armstrong Brewers C remain in second place despite losing 2-5 to Old Millstone X. D League: Leaders Weaver A won 4-3 but are joined by Brewers A after their great 6-1 win. Pool Diary Saturday 14th: Competition forms to be in. Second place SSSC E slipped up losing to SSSC D 4-7 "You Should Be Dancing" lads great win Weaver B are "HAPPY" to go joint 2nd after beating SSSC F 6-5. B League: Silktown E "Turn The Beat Around" with "Moves Like Jagger" to take top spot from Silktown C with an 8-3 win against them and gained an extra point when Dave Kimpton did an ball Nags A remain joint second with Silktown C despite losing 5-6 and "Feel So Close" both teams on 78 points now two points behind the leaders. C League: George and Dragon A stay top although they lost 5-6 to the Bruce A. Silktrader A remain in second place after winning 7-4 with an "Afterglow" ball from Ash Rigby. Macc Rules A League: Ivy Leaf A remain top dispite losing 2-5 to SSSC who in turn remain 3rd. Flowerpot B are "All Fired Up" one point behind the Ivy Leaf in 2nd place after winning 4-3. B League: Silktown are still top after winning 5-2 and Rick Podmore did another ball "Applause" George and Dragon C remain in second place despite losing 3-4 to Plough B. C League: Bruce A extended their lead "All Fired Up" at the top after winning 6-1versus Shamrock B. Brewers C stay second but lost 2-5 to the George and Dragon B. D League: Weaver A are still top after losing 3-4 to the Broken Cross A team Brewers A "Can't Stop The Feeling" in second place still after their 5-2 win against fourth placed Lord Byron X . Macc Rules League, Thursday 10th Nov A League Flowerpot B are top after beating Queens B who played their last game at the Queens and will play from SSSC after this week. B League Queens A are top despite losing 3-4 and will play from the Silktown Club now. C League Bruce A are top Brewers C second both winning 4-3. D League Brewers A are Still top despite losing to the Weaver A 5-2 who now lie second one point behind as a result. Both rule sets also contributed to the Craig Williams fund which is looking like "Fields Of Gold" with generous contributions from football cards and collections at venues. Scotch Pairs Final, Sunday 13th Nov Roy Wyatt and partner Rob Oliver who Roy must think it was "The Wind Beneath My Wings" at the moment as he is flying so high! They beat the strong Weaver pairing Eddie Williams and Rick Bullock 5-3. This match looked like it might go to a deciding frame until Eddie unfortunately went in off escaping from a snooker and Rob & Roy cleared the table to win. The match was live streamed from the Silktown Snooker Club and had plenty of viewers including myself as they started early at 6pm maybe hoping to finish in time to watch the Strictly Comes Dancing result Show! Adam Stevens Moves up the IPA World Tour Rankings Finally congratulations to Adam Stevens who posted the IPA World Tour rankings for the season and has moved up to number 30 in the Amateur rankings. Craig Williams Fundraiser As you are probably aware Lee Holmes has announced the date of his Family Fun day to raise more money for Craig Williams.
Sunday 4th December at the Pack Horse Bowling Club 3pm onwards. Great entertainment and raffle prizes amongst other things are being promised and I'm sure more support will follow. Good luck all this week |
