My "Hymn To The Fallen" and loved ones lost
This week's theme:
As it was Remembrance weekend, my report mixes musical references with pool info.
International Rules League, Wednesday 9th Nov
Silktown A extend their lead with a 9-2 win over second place Weavers B. Ashley Roberts got a bonus point as well for his ball. "Nothing Compares To You" at the moment as a team.
Two more balls were achieved in the league: Paul Bradbury and the evergreen open individuals winner Roy Whyatt.
Silktown C are top with a "Blessed" 7-4 win over second place Nags Head A. Phil Burgess added to St Dunstan's 8-3 score with an ball clearance.
George and Dragon A have a good lead despite losing 4-7 to the Brewers A. Spinners A lie second after an 8-3 win.
Macc Rules League, Thursday 10th Nov
Flowerpot B are top after beating Queens B who played their last game at the Queens and will play from SSSC after this week. Happy retirement to Zoe & Ernie your time as landlords is appreciated and will be "Unforgettable" to all Macc Pool players. Packhorse A are second also winning 4-3.
Queens A are top despite losing 3-4 and will play from the Silktown Club now.
Bruce A are top Brewers C second both winning 4-3.
Brewers A are Still top despite losing to the Weaver A 5-2 who now lie second one point behind as a result.
Apologies to all especially Dave Wrench for omitting this League in my original report! It would have to be you!
Both rule sets also contributed to the Craig Williams fund which is looking like "Fields Of Gold" with generous contributions from football cards and collections at venues.
Scotch Pairs Final, Sunday 13th Nov
Roy Wyatt and partner Rob Oliver who Roy must think it was "The Wind Beneath My Wings" at the moment as he is flying so high! They beat the strong Weaver pairing Eddie Williams and Rick Bullock 5-3.
This match looked like it might go to a deciding frame until Eddie unfortunately went in off escaping from a snooker and Rob & Roy cleared the table to win.
The match was live streamed from the Silktown Snooker Club and had plenty of viewers including myself as they started early at 6pm maybe hoping to finish in time to watch the Strictly Comes Dancing result Show!
Adam Stevens Moves up the IPA World Tour Rankings
