Interleague K/O Cup NATIONAL Finals October 2019
After winning the Cheshire K/O Cup back in March 2019, Macclesfield A travelled to Great Yarmouth to attend the National K/O Cup Finals to compete with another 135 teams. Their group consisted of themselves, Corn Exchange, Bury & Hove A. They managed to win their first match against Hove A 10-8, they lost their second match to Corn Exchange 10-7 which meant they had to play Bury in order to qualify from the group. Unfortunately, after leading all the way, they lost this match 10-8. A disappointing result, as they didn't show their true talent, but under the pressure its easier said than done. On a positive note, well done to Pete Eccles who reached the Last 64 of the Mens Amateur Singles, a great achievement.

Interleague National Finals
April 2018
Northwich A and Macclesfield A were the two representatives from Cheshire to attend the National Finals at Great Yarmouth. Unfortunately for Macc, they didn't get out the group stage, they beat Dawley B 10-0, lost to Andover 10-4 and then lost to Chelmsford A 10-9.
However, it was Northwich A who went on to the Last 16 but they lost to the eventual winners Colchester. Their journey began in the group stage by losing 10-9 to St Neots A, beating Shrewsbury B 10-9 and then beating Folkestone A 10-3. In the last 64 they beat Maidenhead A very comfortably 10-3, and in the last 32 against Clacton A, it ended 9-9 with a 3 way playoff, and it was Steve Moores, Darryl Fallows and Eric Webber who took them to victory by winning 11-9. In the last 16, they came across a very tough side in Colchester and lost 10-4. Well done Northwich A, another great achievement for you.

Interleague K/O Cup national Finals
October 2017
Macc A were once again the only representatives for Cheshire in the K/O Cup, but the 9 keen players travelled to Great Yarmouth to compete against the best. Three other teams were in their group and the first match was against a very good Corn Exchange from Derby, unfortunately they lost 10-0. In disbelieve as the score didn't really reflect on how they played, they re-grouped and played the next match against Chaulk N Bull, once again they lost but only by 10-8 and this meant it was all over for them, for this year anyway.
Interleague National Finals
April 2017
Macclesfield A were the only representatives for Cheshire on this occasion and travelled across to Great Yarmouth to compete in the National Finals. In their group, were teams from Staffordshire (Stone League), from Nottinghamshire (The Club) and from Essex (Crawley B). Their first opponents were Crawley B and Macc comfortably beat them 10-4. Their next opponents were The Club, who were in their group last year and beat Macc 10-6, but Macc were out for revenge and did just that by beating them 10-8 this time, these two wins put them top of the group and through to the last 64. Their next match was against Blackburn Cabin Crew and this didn't start well by losing the first two frames, Macc pulled it back to two a piece, but then lost the next three, by the end of the first session Macc were trailing 6-3. Macc came back strong in the second half, pulling it back to 8-8, it was just unfortunate that the last two frames went the opposite way and Macc lost 8-10. A great team effort and spirit once again came from this team. Well done everyone. A special mention to Ryan Cox winning 5/5, Rob Oliver & Adam Jones winning 4/6.
Interleague K/O cup National Finals
October 2016
For the first time since Macclesfield started playing Interleague, both the A and B teams ventured across to Great Yarmouth to compete in the K/O Cup. Macc B were in the first group with Leek B, Battersea A and Cambridge. With Macc B only having 8 players, it was a tough start to begin with, but Leek B were in the same boat, but it was Leek who had the edge and won 10-8. It was down to Macc B to beat Cambridge to stay in the competition but unfortunately Macc lost 10-7.
Macc A were in group 4 with Waterloo, Clacton and Bromsgrove. Waterloo were their first opponents, they knew this was a tough team as they had 3 internationals on side and found themselves losing the match 10-5. The next match was against Bromsgrove, a close game all the way but Macc A beat them 10-8. To stay in the Competition the 3rd match was a must win against Clacton, after being down at half time, Macc A pulled it back to 9-8, but lost the last one and it ended a 9-9 all draw. Dave Cobey was the man for the playoff, after a good clearance he found himself snookered on his last ball and unfortunately missed it and gave his opponent 2 shots. Clacton won the match 10-9. A special mention to Dave Cobey who reached the Last 32 of the Mens' Amateur Championships.

April 2016
Unfortunately for Macc A this was not meant to be! The team did their best but they lost their first match to Hayes & Uxbridge A 10-9 on a playoff and then they lost to The Club 10-6, this meant they didn't qualify for the next round. Huge congratulations to Dave Cobey in getting to the last 16 of the qualifiers for the World Championships.
Interleague K/O Cup national finals
1st-4th October 2015
Quarter Finalists
The Macclesfield A Team once again competed in the National Knockout Cup and for the first time, several of the players entered the Amateur Individuals with Marc Corbett and Dave Cobey reaching the 3rd Round. The team started their first game against Lennon's and comfortably beat them 10-3 and in their second match they beat Mercury Saints 10-7, these two wins made them top the group and go into the last 64. In this next match against Gosport, Macc went 4-5 down at half time, but with determination they won the second session 5-4 leaving the end result at a 9-9 draw and having a 3 way playoff. Dave, Des and Roy were the 3 men who made it an 11-10 win to Macclesfield. In the Last 32, on the Sunday Morning, Macc came up against Mermaid A winning the first session 7-2, unfortunately the gas was taken off and Macc lost the second session 7-2 making it another 9-9 draw. Once again a playoff saw Dave, Des and Roy make it an 11-9 win. The Last 16, Macc were on the live streaming tables against Peterborough Court, which added pressure to the team, but this didn't phase them as they made the final result a 9-9 draw, making it their 3rd 3 way playoff and it was up to the 3 Amigos to pull it out the bag once again to take Macc into the Last 8, which they did, an achievement thats not been done before by any team from Macc. With no break it was straight into the Quarter Finals against Frames Reigate, but unfortunately this was where the team ran out of steam and lost 10-4. Macc A had great sprirt and determination the whole weekend and did themselves, Macclesfield and Cheshire proud. A special mention to Dave Cobey topping the rankings by winning 10 out of 11 and finishing in joint 4th overall. Well Done Macc A.
Interleague national Finals

Once again the team travelled to Great Yarmouth for the National Finals on the 17th April and competed with a further 127 teams. The team - Charlie Mitchell (cpt), Rick Podmore, Rick Aimson, Roy Whyatt, Rick Green, Paul Bowden, Des Cobey, Pete Eccles, Shaun Sweetmore, Dave Cobey and Maddy Wilkinson did themselves proud once again as did first time travellers to yarmouth, Des and Poddy. Macc were placed in a group of four with the top two teams going through to the last 64. Their first game saw Macc lead the first session 5-4 against Hammersmith A, but unfortunately, the opposition came back strong and won 10-7. In their second match, Macc lead all the way and beat Dawley B 10-3. Their third match, however, Macc didn't perform to the high standard they can and lost to Yarmouth DP Leis 10-3 which saw them go out of the competition. A special mention goes to Pete Eccles winning 5 out of 6 and Paul Bowden winning 3 out of 4. A huge thank you to our sponsors this year, Brookside Welding Services, Sunderland Street Sporting Club and Cheshire Vehicle Rentals.

The Macclesfield Interleague team once again travelled to Great Yarmouth on the 28th March 2014 and competed in the National Finals with a further 117 teams all after the same thing of winning the prestigious title and collecting the prize money. The players - Charlie Mitchell (cpt), Tony Corbett, Rob Oliver, Rick Aimson, Pete Eccles, Rick Green, Tim Hill, Paul Bowden, Jimmy Yea, Roy Whyatt & Shaun Sweetmore did themselves proud by getting to the last 32 of the competition. In the first round, they beat Biggleswade A very comfortably by a score line of 13-5 and then played them again and won 13-5, by doing this, it put them through to the last 32. After a long wait throughout the day, they were up against Notts & District, but unfortunately they lost 10-4 after being 5-4 down at half time.
Interleague K/O Cup national finals
4th October 2013
The Macclesfield Interleague team qualified for the National K/O Cup and travelled once again to Great Yarmouth on the 4th October 2013. The Players - Charlie Mitchell (Cpt), Dave Cobey, Maddy Wilkinson, Tony Corbett, Rob Oliver, Rick Aimson, Dave Hine, Pete Eccles, Rick Green, Tim Hill & Shaun Sweetmore, were drawn against Thurmaston from Leicester in their first match and won a very respectable 11-7. In the second match of the group they drew 9-9 against a very good Romney Marsh from Kent. Unfortunately, even tho they didn't lose, a draw wasn't enough to take them through to the next round. A special mention goes to Rob Oliver wining 3/3 and Rick Aimson and Pete Eccles winning 3/4.
Interleague national Finals
12th April 2013
The Macclesfield Interleague team qualified for the National Finals and travelled to Great Yarmouth for the first time in 18 years on the 12th April 2013. A super achievement in itself as this was their first season to play the world rules and to play at such a high level. The players - Charlie Mitchell (Cpt), Tony Corbett, Pete Eccles, Rob Oliver, Rick Aimson, Tim Hill, Shaun Sweetmore, Paul Bowden, Rick Green and Dave Cobey were drawn against experienced opponents from Oldham and Norwich A (previous quarter finalists). In their first match against Oldham A, with several making their debut in this type of event, the Macc team experienced some bad luck and were beaten 11-7. In the second game of the group, the team really pulled together and produced some outstanding pool, including an eightball from Shaun Sweetmore and finished with a very creditable and impressive 9-9 draw. A special mention must go to Tony Corbett and Dave Cobey who finished with figures of playing 4 and winning 3.
