CHARITY POOL CHALLENGE 2012

Twenty six of the towns finest pool players and a supporting cast of family and friends assembled at Sunderland Street Sporting Club on Sunday 18th March to contest this years annual charity challenge between the 'Legends of Yesteryear' and the 'Superstars of Today' with all the proceeds going to Park Lane Special School, which is a special school for pupils with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties.

In a fiercely contested battle it was the 'Legends' who looked home and hosed at 12-9 who wilted as the finishing line became ever closer leaving the younger generation 'Superstars' to snatch victory by a 14-12 score line.

In truth there were no losers, as the event organised by Macclesfield Pool League raised a staggering £1000.00, in the main due to each player having to sell a minimum of twenty five pounds worth of raffle tickets as a prerequisite of playing and aided by some generous donations and sponsorship from the local community.

The 'Legends' team: Jimmy Yea, Rick Green, Shaun Sweetmore, Amanda Jackson, Micky Blair, Charlie Mitchell, Dave Cobey, Rick Aimson, Des Cobey, Ant Corbett, Paul Snape, Maddy Wilkinson, Rob Aimson.

The 'Superstars' team: Paul Bowden, Theo Bowers, Tim Hill, Nicola Oakes, Tony Corbett, Rob Oliver, Ben Ludlow, Jane Mitchell, Andrew McKie, Mark Hughes, Rob White, Paul Barton, Dave Hine, Dan Oliver.
